Whos in Control

1. Morgan Spurlock had so much trouble finding sponsorships because of who he was. His past film had a major impact in the fast food industry, many company’s did not feel secure sponsoring him for the fact that his film could have a
negative impact on the company and his product.

2. Corporations play a major role in what I see in my everyday life. From there walking mannequins to the advertisements I see on television. In my everyday life I see product placement in music videos and television shows. I
watch plenty of music videos and almost all of them have product placement. With us watching seeing these products everywhere and feeling a sense of comfort with these products we tend to buy them.

3. My main brands are DC shoes ,Fox Clothing , And T-Mobile Sidekick.DC
Shoes are comfortable and I like shoes that aren’t basic colors and
styles. The shoes looks fade away fast but the comfort stays the same for a very long time. I have about 6 pairs of DC Shoes and I only wear the same old pair every day. The shoes aren’t the best if you plan to go jogging but there amazing to be walking and standing around in all day. Fox Clothing is cheap and usually matches my shoes. There skate boarder/ snowboarder style shirts are what I buy. I have always have had T-Mobile, but The T-Mobile Sidekick brand is what fits best with me. I have always had every Sidekick since the started making them. I bought the T-Mobile 4G the day it came out.

4.The cool hunters and those who use the information they supply are similar to colonial powers. They exploit teens, telling them what they want such as the Clothes, Video Games, and
everything else they’re selling or trying to make you buy, just like the colonial powers made others believe that they were right.

5. The "cool hunters" are right and very good at what they do.They know what information is needed and they get it. They help create TV shows like the jersey shore. They helped make these shows because ridiculous and funny. The characters are funny because they know what is going to make us laugh. If MTV were to reflect me i would of been on it, I had a large opportunity to be on MTV's Made but i changed my phone number and forgot to call them. MTV is doing the best job at getting teens hooked on there programing and that's whats going to help them succeed.

6.Yes I am manipulated by brands. My whole family is being manipulated. My mom has more
Couch purses then a Couch store. My brother is all about is Burrberry. I always want the newest thing out.

7. Apple goes after teens make the IPhone and the IPods “cool”. There a must have and everyone wants one. They make the IPods several colors so anyone can get there style. Dell is going after teens. There making their laptops have changeable tops. So they can fit the teen’s style.

8.Yes, my identity is important abut right now I feel like I’m just helping company’s sell more of their products. How do companies come up with these ideas of research teens? Why do they spend so much money in finding out what the upcoming trends are when they could make their own?
